Best of the Best Award
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced that the Champlain Water District (CWD) in South Burlington Vermont has won the 2015 “Best of the Best” People’s Choice Water Taste Test.
The People’s Choice award winner, chosen and determined by the conference attendees, in a blind taste test, went to Champlain Water District of South Burlington, Vermont. The event was composed of regional AWWA Section winners from water-tasting competitions across North America was held at AWWA’s Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE15) in Anaheim, California.
To qualify for this event the Champlain Water District had previously won the Best Tasting Drinking Water in New England as part of the New England Water Works Association’s blind taste test held in September 2014. CWD’s General Manager Jim Fay and Director of Water Quality and Production Mike Barsotti accepted the award for the District. Jim Fay stated, “This recognition was a culmination of over 25 years of effort by CWD staff and the elected Board of Water Commissioners. CWD’s mission as a drinking water supplier has always been to ensure public health protection by tenaciously striving to improve the quality of water delivered to our served 75,000 customers.”
